Holiday Make Up Tips

Holiday Make Up Tips

Are you going on holiday but are unsure what you should pack in your make up bag? If you are limited for space we have wrote a guide which will inspire you to pack just the bare essentials this summer.

The Basics

Let’s start with the basics. Make sure that you are using a good base for your make up. On holiday you should wear an oil-free moisturizer in the morning.  At night you can use an oil-free foundation formula to match. Before adding foundation, get your hands on a good makeup primer.

It takes just a couple of seconds to apply a primer and the results are great. Primers are a must have during the summer, if you purchase a light one you will not feel at all, plus it will keep your makeup in place.

Bronze

Bronzer is a summer must have. Not only does bronzer make your eyes look brighter and your teeth whiter, it will add a little warmth to your skin tone.  For best results use bronzer to contour applying bronzer just to the high points of your face. Make sure that you hit all of the spots where the sun naturally hits you: forehead, cheekbones, chin, and nose. Powder bronzers are great for holidays and are the easiest to apply. Buying a bronzer with varying shades means you will get a more authentic result.

Keep things light.

Full coverage is great when you are hitting the club, but you don’t need it during your holiday. The best thing you can do to stop your makeup from creasing and caking is to admit that less is more. Change your make up routine up with a tinted moisturizer and a concealer where you need it.  The worst thing about makeup on holiday is that it likes to move around when it’s hot, so the best way to avoid that is to wear less of it.”

Shimmer

On holiday you will get a natural dewy glow. Use little of your cream foundations or anything too luminous, the humidity will make you extra shiny and sweaty-looking. If you are going to use highlighter, use a powder.

 Go sheer

Bold colours look great on holiday, but they are not long lasting. Try to stay away from rich, deep colours as they tend to look heavy in summer. The best thing you can do is to wear sheer colours. Make sure you lip stick stays on by using a lip liner pre-application, this will add extra definition to your lips. Nude shades are great in the summer to keep it subtle. You can get a great range of sheer lip glosses and sticks in stores like Superdrug and Boots.

Give your eye shadow staying power.

Eye shadow can slide off, which means that creasing can happen easily. For the best results during the summer layer a powder over a cream. You can add setting spray to the mix to give you super staying shadow that will stay on all day/night long.
